چکیده

Background: Benign vocal fold lesions (BVFLs) are usually caused by abuse or misuse. Conservative treatment and micro laryngeal surgery (MLS) recommended in the treatment. However, conservative measures difficult to perform some patients contraindicated for general anesthesia. Objective: This study is designed assess practical application, effectiveness, side effects of office-based steriod injection via a transnasal route.Patients Methods: included 29 with BVFLs. Transnasal endoscopic steroid (TESI) was performed operating channel all patients. Local anesthesia used inject betamethasone into Reinke's space at base lesion. Acoustic analysis, including fundamental frequency (F0), jitter, shimmer, noise harmonic ratio (NHR), aerodynamic analysis (MPT), auditory perceptual assessment using modified GRBAS scale, videolaryngostroboscopy (VLS) evaluations, voice handicap index (VHI), done before three months after TESI.Results: Three injection, VLS demonstrated that remission size improvement observed 20 patients, total disappearance 4 no 5 The summation scale also indicated highly significant TESI (P < 0.01). MPT showed increase post-injection. VHI reduction revealed improvements F0, NHR <0.05).Conclusion : Office-based an effective, safe, easy, feasible alternative method BVFLs

Office-based vocal fold injection with the laryngeal introducer technique.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS There are numerous techniques for awake laryngeal injection, each with its limitations and technical challenges. We demonstrate a modification to the thyrohyoid approach for injection that stabilizes needle introduction and allows for consistent placement in a wide variety of larynges. STUDY DESIGN Retrospective review at a tertiary care institution. METHODS A retrospe...
